Dry Eyes After Laser Eye Surgery
Is there any connection between having laser glaucoma surgery done and dry eyes getting worse?
I would say that normally glaucoma drops would make your dry eye worse. Although we don't normally think of glaucoma surgery making your dry eye worse, I always say any surgery that you are having on the front of your eyes, even if it's a laser that they are using, is still possible to cause dry eyes.
It is a high energy light that is going into your eyes so it is hitting your cornea. We do not really seeing it affecting it that much, but if it is a laser glaucoma surgery it is still going through your cornea. It is tough to know the damage that is occuring, if any. It could be just a temporary side effect and hopefully it will go away for you and is not something that will be around forever.
