For all my patients who have been diagnosed with macular degeneration or are at risk, I have them take the recommended 2 per day. Take care to not take more than is prescribed, as sometimes more of a vitamin is not better for you. You may take them both at the same time or spread them out, one in the morning and one at night.
Great question! This is definitely beta-carotene free and follows the AREDS2 formula. These should work very well for her!
You can learn a lot about macular degeneration from our site. Check out our blog for macular degeneration by clicking here. I have also written a short book, which you can download for free by clicking here or purchase on Amazon Kindle here.
AMD stands for Age-Related Macular Degeneration. Head to our blog to learn more.
This natural formula is all absorbed well and contains all of the studied AREDS2 vitamins and then some. Other than that, there are only a few other inactive ingredients necessary for keeping the pills together. Our process is as natural as possible, and we think you'll enjoy this supplement! We use it with our patients daily.
You can take Eye Love's Ocular Health Formula whenever is convenient for you. The key thing to remember is to take it with food.
I take both of mine in the morning with my green smoothie. You can also take one with breakfast or lunch and then one with dinner. It does not really matter.
Yes! Our formula contains exactly what you need to comply with the AREDS2 research (note that no difference in AMD progression was found with 40 mg vs 80 mg of zinc, so we used the lower 40 mg in order to decrease the chance of gastrointestinal upset). We have also added in other vitamins and nutrients that provide further benefit for eye health. Below are the official AREDS2 recommendations:
500 mg vitamin C
400 IU vitamin E
10 mg lutein
2 mg zeaxanthin
80 mg zinc
2 mg copper
This supplement can absolutely be used along with other macular degeneration therapies, such as the procedures performed by your retinal specialist. Laser surgeries or injections are not complicated by the use of this supplement. However, we recommend you NOT be taking more than one type of ocular vitamin. Also, speak with your doctor about any other vitamins or supplements you’re taking, as you don’t want to overdose on any of the fat-soluble vitamins (such as vitamin E).
There are 60 pills in a bottle. The dosing is 2 per day, so each bottle is a 1 month supply.
There are negligible calories per pill because they do not contain any fatty acids, such as omega 3s.
Yes, the supplement is entirely gluten free.
The gelatin is derived from bovine/cow.
All of Eye Love's supplements are all proudly manufactured in the USA.
No, this formula does not contain any artificial dyes or color.
We recommend making this supplement a part of your daily routine. Many people will notice some improvement in their overall eye health within a few months. Those with mild to moderate macular changes should get high marks from their eye doctor at their next visit! For those with severe macular degeneration, your visits with your retinal specialist are going to be the most important. When vision is severely affected, the goal of this supplement is to prevent progression and ramp up the beneficial pigments in the macula.
Our product is manufactured in an FDA registered facility that is also cGMP compliant and USDA approved. All products undergo rigorous testing before, during, and after production. Third party testing is performed to ensure that all supplements contain the specified ingredients and avoid unwanted chemicals and materials.
We do our best to reduce the size of our supplements as much as possible, but in order to contain all of the necessary components they usually end up rather large. If you have trouble taking large pills, we recommend taking them one at a time with a full glass of water. Watch the video below or read the blog post written by Dr. Travis Zigler by clicking here.
