Dr. Jenna Zigler Discusses Using Heyedrate Lid and Lash Cleanser instead of Ocusoft Lid Scrubs and Cliradex for a more natural treatment of Blepharitis and Dry Eye

Hey! This is Dr. Jenna Zigler here with Eye Love. We’ve had a couple questions about ocusoft and if you can use our new lid and lash spray basically in place of ocusoft. The answer is, yes. We actually recommend it. It would be less irritating than ocusoft. If you want to use it in place of your ocusoft, or something similar if you use Cliradex or something like that, you can. What you can do is you can put it on a cotton round or a cotton ball. I have a cotton ball here. You can use that and just spray it a few times on your cotton ball. You do it exactly how you would with those little pads from ocusoft. You close your eyes, just rub it on to your eyelashes. Do the same thing on the other side and it will keep your lids and lashes really clean, and bacteria free. Actually, you know in the past, it was recommended that everybody use baby shampoo because none of these products existed. Then along came ocusoft which is better than baby shampoo but it’s still a detergent, like baby shampoo is, and what that can do is it can actually cause more inflammation over time. So what we found is that by using a hypochlorous acid solution like our eyelid and lash spray, it actually will keep that inflammation away and keep your eyelids really clean. So, yes, you can definitely use it in place of ocusoft. I hope that helps and we’ll see you soon.

One Love,

Dr. Jenna Zigler

We actually recommend it.

0:00:15.080,0:00:17.910
It would be less irritating than ocusoft.

0:00:17.910,0:00:23.349
Um, if you want to use it in place of your
ocusoft or something similar if you use a

clear dex or something like that, um, what
you can do is you can put it on a cotton round

0:00:29.839,0:00:30.869
or a cotton ball.

0:00:30.869,0:00:32.399
I have a cotton ball here.

0:00:32.399,0:00:33.510
You can use that.

0:00:33.510,0:00:37.050
Um, you just spray it a few times on your
cotton ball.

You do it exactly how you would with those
little pads from ocusoft.

0:00:40.820,0:00:45.039
You close your eyes, just rub it on to your
eyelashes.

0:00:45.039,0:00:49.850
Do the same thing on the other side and it
will keep your, you know, lids and lashes

0:00:49.850,0:00:51.719
really clean, bacteria free.

0:00:51.719,0:00:58.519
Um, actually, you know in the past it as recommended
that everybody use baby shampoo because none

of these products existed and then along came
ocusoft which is better than baby shampoo

0:01:05.370,0:01:11.430
but it’s still a detergent, like baby shampoo
is and what that can do is it can actually

0:01:11.430,0:01:13.800
cause more inflammation over time.

0:01:13.800,0:01:21.411
Um, so what we found is that by using a hypochlorous
acid solution um, like our eyelid and lash

0:01:21.411,0:01:26.640
spray it actually will keep that inflammation
away, keep your eyelids really clean.

0:01:26.640,0:01:29.820

Hey Lee! Yes, using oils on the eyelashes for growth is fine and will keep them strong and moisturized. However, if you have dry eyes, I would shy away from products like Latisse.

Is it safe to use Castor Oil Coldpress on your lashes to help them grow or any other product that is on the market that assists with lash growth.
