It depends on the evening primrose that you chose. Evening primrose oil is a great omega 6. That is actually the vegetarian omega that we are coming out with. It is going to be organic evening primrose oil with flaxseed oil. The trouble we are having with it right now is finding a vegetable soft gel. The soft gel that the oil comes in usually has a little beef in it, so we are trying to get one that is vegetarian. That is the problem we are having, but going back to the question, I don’t know if one capsule is enough. Just like Jenna said, you want to have a ratio.
This is what we recommend with omega 3s is 1000 mg. We don’t recommend more than that. Doctor’s sometimes tell you to push 3 or 4000 but you don’t need that. What you need to do is balance your oils and you want to have healthy omega 6s to healthy omega 3s. That is why we only put 1000 mg in our Heyedrate Omega 3 for dry eye. Then when we come out with the evening primrose oil, you can take both of them and that would compliment each other. If you are unhealthy and just starting out, you want to go 4 to 1. If you are following our anti-inflammatory diet and a healthy individual, like what we are, we follow 2 to 1. That means 2000 mg of evening primrose oil or omega 6 to 1000 mg of the omega 3. That is just going to help make you feel much better.
What you are doing there is you are providing the wall of your cells all over your body of about a hundred trillion cells or something in your body and the walls is made up of those oils and if you have bad oil from Western Diet and fried foods oxygen cannot get through the cells. That is what causes cancer, high blood pressure, and heart disease. If you fill these cells with good fat, which will take about a good 6 months of progress to finally get to that point if you follow this diet, that’s when oxygen flows freely and you are going to be a lot healthier and you are going to reduce that inflammation making you feel a lot better.
So, 4 to 1 if you are unhealthy. Some doctors even recommend 8 to 1, which is a lot of evening primrose oil. We do recommend a loading dose just like we do with our omega 3 of 4 to 1. So, 4000 of the primrose oil to 1000 of the omega 3, which would be 3 of our omega 3’s. Then once you get healthy and in that anti-inflammatory state, after about 6 months of our diet, your going to go with 2 to 1.
