Blepharitis and Contact Lenses
Is it possible to still wear contacts with blepharitis? If so, what would be the best kind to get?
Yes. We do have a lot of patients that do wear contact lenses with blepharitis. You do want to make sure that your eyelids are super clean, keeping them clean by cleaning them twice a day. We like to recommend our Heyedrate Lid and Lash Cleanser because it is really gentle and most people don’t have any issues with it at all. It ensures your eyelids are really clean while you are wearing the contacts.
We always like daily disposables. We fit a lot of one day Acuvue Oasys, and Dailies Total 1 is another good one. They come in a lot of different parameters now and many people can wear them. Then of course you can always get fit for scleral lenses, which will do double duty as far as helping with your dry eye and solving your vision issues.
